I’m not one for strict “diets”. However, that doesn’t mean that I’m averse to a bit of a health boost from time to time. Like many people, this desire often kicks in around the New Year.
Not only did I sign up to Veganuary this year but I also wanted to make a conscious effort to make healthier choices as much as possible.
So when I was selected to be part of the Nutribuddy Breakfast campaign, I was pretty darn excited!

The Nutribuddy Breakfast* shakes come in three FOUR flavours – Naked, Chocolate Brownie, Vanilla and Strawberry (added to the range on 16th Jan!). I’m not a fan of chocolate-flavoured drinks but I’m a sucker for sweet vanilla so that’s what I chose.
The shake powder is a blend of oats, seeds and coconut and comes in a super-cute, recyclable glass jar. You can order your first kit for 14-days (£14.99), 28-days (£24.86) or 56 days (£39.92).
With your first jar, you can get a shaker bottle for £7.99. The bottle is perfect for breakfast on the run – you literally just scoop in the powder, add milk of your choice (almond for me) and shake! Done. As someone who is always in a rush, this is perfect.
Not only are the shakes a quick and easy breakfast option, they’re healthy, high in protein, low in fat, vegan-friendly, organic, and gluten-free. All the things!
But how does it taste, you ask?
Well, it’s a little bit like drinking liquid cereal… or a really thin smoothie. I feel like that description made it sound horrible but it’s not, I swear! The flavour is actually really nice and has just the right hint of sweetness.
I do like the shake plain but I also tried blending it with frozen banana and that took it to the next level and made it feel a bit more filling. I’m looking forward to experimenting more with fruit and maybe making a smoothie bowl at the weekend. On work days, though, I expect to just go with the powder and milk and run!
The Nutribuddy Breakfast shakes are not only a quick and easy breakfast substitute, they are also really low in calories (Vanilla is under 120 calories per serve) so great for anyone looking to lose a few of those holiday kilos.
I don’t expect any miracle weight loss in just two weeks using the shakes but they are a great help in kickstarting my healthier diet and I’ll do a follow-up post once I’ve used up my stash. For now, I’m just enjoying a new and different breakfast.

I’ve bought myself a new blender for when my gym opens in a couple of weeks, I usually have overnight oats with fruit and chia or flax for breakfast so just gonna add fewer oats and more liquid/fruit to drink on the way to the gym
Ah, nice! I really need to try overnight oats sometimes. Enjoy you new blender! 🙂
Looks good!
It is! 🙂
hmm., I wonder how tastes like but I guess it’ll be a healthy breakfast! I think I could give this too to kids here at home, its good to try something new.
Like vanilla! I really like it.
I’m glad they helped you kickstart your diet, I have tried a few similar shakes but find I get bored after a week!
Yeah, I’m hoping I don’t get bored of it! But plan to do smoothie bowls with it at the weekend to mix it up a bit. 🙂
I’ve tried a few meal replacement shakes over the years. While there were a few I liked enough, eventually, I would get sick of the powdery aftertaste. From what you described this product doesn’t have that, so I am actually a bit interested in trying it. Can’t hurt to try again!
This doesn’t have that powdery taste at all! I guess because it’s just group up oats and seeds etc – there’s no milk powder, protein powder or anything like that in it.
Let me know if you do try it out! (And don’t forget to use my discount code in the links. ;-))
They look good! I love the idea of a breakfast shake but have never found one that isn’t chalky!
This one isn’t chalky at all because it’s just ground up, natural ingredients. No milk powders or anything like that. 🙂
I love how affordable this is! So many shakes cost an arm and a leg. This one looks like it would be super easy to customize. I would try the chocolate and add banana and spinach (you can’t even taste it!).
That sounds awesome! I’ve loved mixing mine up with different fruits and making it into smoothie bowls at the weekend but it’s also yummy on its own.
If you’re interested, there’s a discount code on my latest instagram post. 🙂
breakfast is the most important meal of the day, I think having this kind of shakes is really healthy. thanks for sharing
I agree! And this is such a quick and easy option. 🙂
I have other shakes but you’ve definitely made me want to try these! Looking forward to your review once you’ve used it all 🙂
