Luxury Soy Candles and Charcoal Soap from Lifestyle Brand SENSATION

With the current dreary weather in the UK, I’m spending a lot of my time cosied up indoors. One of my favourite ways to add warmth to a room in such weather is to burn a delicious scented candle, so when premium lifestyle brand SENSATION offered me one of their luxury soy candles, along with a charcoal soap to try, how could I say no?!

SOY Candles

Handcrafted using soy wax, wooden wicks, and pure essential oils, SENSATION candles are vegan and eco-friendly. No nasty paraffins, chemicals, or artificial scents in these guys! As someone with both asthma and allergies, this is super-important to me for health reasons, as well as environmental ones.

With scents of Thailand, the candles whisk you away to a luxury spa or tropical sandy beach. You can choose from four beautifully-scented soy candles:

• Soul Enchanted – floral top notes,  middle notes of patchouli and wood, and bottom notes of sugared musk, sandalwood

I normally go for fruitier scents, so the sweet yet woody floral bouquet of the Soul Enchanted candle added a nice alternative to my collection.

I love the wooden wick, which crackles like there’s a mini fireplace in the room. Unlike cotton wicks, there’s no annoying soot falling in the wax, plus there’s little to no carbon build-up. Soy wax is known to last longer than other waxes, so you get more burn time out of the candle too.

CHARCOAL Soap

I have oily, blemish prone, and sensitive skin (yay, me!), so I am always nervous of changing up my skincare routine. But I’m trying to move away from plastic packaging in my beauty products as much as possible and one of the easiest swaps is from liquid soap to solid bars.

SENSATION’s Intense Charcoal soap is specially formulated for just my type of problem skin, so I gave it a go.  It has a light scent, perfect for sensitive skin and charcoal is known to deep clean pores and draw out oil and impurities, due to its highly-absorbent nature.

Though I was dubious about using a solid bar on my face, I was actually pleasantly surprised. My skin felt squeaky clean without being dried out. It’s not a miracle worker – I still have oily skin with spots – but it’s just as good as the liquid cleansers I’d been using.
