THE BLOG – MORE THAN GREENS

More Than Greens is a vegan food, travel and lifestyle blog.

Created back in 2012, it was a way to share a love of food and show the world that vegetarians don’t just live on “greens”.

It began as a place to post some pretty basic recipes and the occasional restaurant review. However, it soon became my outlet for sharing everything within the veggie lifestyle.

You’ll find a whole range of topics here; from delicious food, cruelty-free beauty, and eco-friendly living, to animals and nature, travel and exploration.

Whether you’re a fully-fledged vegan or a veg-curious omnivore, you’re more than welcome here. Although you may come across the odd opinion piece on this site, I practise but don’t preach veganism.

I just want to share what I love. If that opens someone’s mind to a meat-free or meat-reduced lifestyle, well… that’s just a bonus!

THE BLOGGER

More Than Greens ProfileI’m Sarah and I’m a twenty thirty-something British-Australian who moved from Sydney to London in 2009.

I’m passionate about travel and I try to explore the world as much as possible. I have particular interest in nature, culture, and culinary delights.

I’ve been a vegan since January 2018 and a vegetarian since my late teens. After a sketchy experience with a cheeseburger, I decided that I really didn’t want to eat meat any more; I haven’t since and I have never missed it. No, not even bacon.

After starting the blog, I became more involved in the online veggie and vegan communities. It became about more than just being meat-free. I shifted to cruelty-free and vegan beauty. I gave up eggs and switched to vegan-only baking. And I gradually reduced my dairy intake over the years, before going vegan in 2018.

This blog has also ignited a passion for photography. Although I’m still very much developing my skills and knowledge, I have come a long way since the frankly appalling photography of my earlier posts! If you find yourself in the depths of the blog archive, please don’t judge too harshly…

Though it may have started with a bad burger, the vegan lifestyle is now something that I’m really passionate about for a multitude of reasons: animal rights, environmental issues, and health to name a few. I am much more educated about the cause and the lifestyle than I was over a decade ago but I’m continually learning.

I love to cook and bake and although I’m no Jamie Oliver or Isa Chandra, I’ve been told that I’m a bit of all right at both. Even by meat-eaters.
