Bella & Bear make-up and hair

Bella & Bear – My New Favourite Cruelty-Free And Vegan Beauty Brand

If you like kitsch but cute designs (think Cath Kidston or Emma Bridgewater) then Bella & Bear could be your new favourite beauty brand.

This budget-friendly brand creates beauty tools and accessories in bright, floral designs, which are all cruelty-free and vegan.

Bella & Bear very kindly sent me a couple of their products to try out – the “Brush On You” Hair Brush Set and the “Bobcat” Blush Brush.

Brush On You Hair Brush Set

£12.00

The Brush on You set comes with a detangling brush, a wide-tooth comb and a travel pouch, all in Bella & Bear’s signature turquoise and floral designs.

I tried both brush and comb on wet hair as well as dry. If you have crazy thick hair like I do, I would recommend the sturdy comb for wet hair as the brush did struggle a little.

With thick, plastic bristles, the comb is perfect for detangling wet hair as it won’t snap and it’s gentle on your locks. It’s recommended that you use the comb in-shower to reduce tangles but I also used it after towel-drying (which inevitably re-tangles my hair!) with great results.

Bella & Bear wide-tooth comb with floral travel caseOnce my hair was dried off a bit, the brush was great. With no end-beads on the cone-shaped bristles, the brush is specially designed for detangling, and it slides through tangled hair easily without snagging. The bristles are not too stiff or prickly, so they’re also lovely and massaging on the scalp! The brush did a great job of smoothing my hair whilst blow drying, meaning less time with the straighteners. Bonus!

It isn’t quite strong enough for me to use as my everyday brush but again, that’s purely down to the silly amount of hair on my head. However, it’s definitely going to become a staple in my blow dry routine as I couldn’t believe how smooth my hair was!

With my amount of hair, hair loss has never really been a concern for me! However, I did notice the detangling brush had significantly less hair in it after use than my usual paddle brush so I would definitely recommend it if that’s an issue for you.

Bella & Bear claim that you can also use the brush and comb on pet hair! As much as I’d love to verify this claim, I sadly don’t have a four-legged friend to try this on…

Bobcat Blush Brush

£7.00

All of Bella & Bear’s make-up brushes are named after endangered wild cats, which I think is a sweet touch.

The Bobcat Blush Brush is an angled brush with vegan-friendly synthetic hair bristles.

Though it’s called a “blush” brush, I’d say it’s more of a general blending brush. It’s much thicker than most blush brushes, so I had to go a little lighter on application. However, the thickness and the angle of the brush mean it’s great for contouring or blending.

The bristles are super-soft and I found the brush worked well with both powders and creams.

The sleek black handle is made from timber, making it a little sturdier than plastic ones. It would be awesome if the handle incorporated the turquoise or floral design of the brand but it’s still a lovely brush regardless. And it still comes in a super-pretty floral box!

Bella & Bear offer a 100% money-back guarantee within 365 days, which is pretty generous, especially for such a purse-friendly brand. However, with the amount I’m loving the products I’ve used so far, I don’t think I’ll need to use it!

  1. I’ve never heard of Bella and Bear before, but I’m a big fan of detanglish brushes so this sounds like it would be perfect for me – I’m going to look into their stuff a little more now.. 😍

  2. I’ve seen the brand on Instagram before briefly so it was good to hear what you thought of them! I love the packaging and definitely like the look of the detangling brush! Xx

  3. I haven’t heard of this brand before! They look so pretty – love the designs on them! I have a brush similar to that which is great for detangling your hair. Mine is sadly only just plain pink and doesn’t have the pretty design like this one!
